EBPC Management – What Makes Us Different?

A recent independent survey of our GPs showed that 95% of doctors working with East Berkshire Primary Care reported feeling well supported by EBPC management. Understandably we are really proud of this result, so we decided to take some time to look at exactly what it is that makes us different and why our GPs feel so well supported.

Regular contact between EBPC management and GPs

We know that effective management relies on having a good relationship between managers and team members, which is why EBPC management make sure to maintain regular contact with all of our GPs. That way any issues can be raised and discussed, allowing management and doctors to agree a strategy for moving forwards in a positive way.

Our managers have a reputation for always being available – something which was reflected in the comments on the GP survey. By being approachable to GPs and other staff members, our managers are ensuring that problems are dealt with as soon as they arise, allowing us to offer an ever improving service and helping to keep team members happy and able to work effectively.

Hands on approach

Feedback from the survey showed that our managers have a reputation for a hands on approach, taking an active role in providing care for our patients. Being hands on is a great way for managers to inspire trust and respect in team members, and is something we encourage with all of our managers. This ensures they are not just some mysterious figures locked away in their offices, but real people our GPs know and feel confident to approach with any issues and problems that need addressing.

Funding for additional development

EBPC management is keen to ensure our GPs are as skilled as possible and feel that they are constantly developing their skills and experience when working with us. This is why we fund additional study for our GPs where requested and appropriate, particularly on the subject of providing out-of-hours care.

East Berkshire Primary Care (EBPC) Out of Hours Service is a non-profit social enterprise supplying NHS services for East Berkshire Clinical Commissioning Groups covering Bracknell Forest, Slough, Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead. Our core services include urgent out-of-hours medical care provided with the support of locum GPs.

EBPC management is focused on providing a first rate service for our patients and a great working environment for our GPs and other staff.
